PRESS RELEASE
RE: FALSE CLAIMS AND VIRAL VIDEO REGARDING A HOSTEL IN COLLEGE OF HEALTH TECHNOLOGY, OFFA
The attention of the Management of the College of Health Technology, Offa has been drawn to a recent defamatory statement and a misleading viral video circulated by certain individuals concerning the state of one of the hostels within the College premises. We wish to categorically debunk the claims made in the said video and state the facts as follows:
- The hostel in question has not been allocated to any students. It has been officially marked for renovation and, as such, is not in active use as a student residence.
- Over two months ago, all individuals who encroached upon the hostel were identified and promptly evacuated by the school authorities in line with our commitment to safety and orderliness within the College environment.
- The Management remains fully committed to improving the welfare of all students and staff. Renovation and infrastructural development are ongoing in various parts of the College to provide a conducive learning and living environment for our community.
- We wish to express our profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, CON, for his unwavering support and continuous investment in the educational sector. His administration's commitment to revamping education in the state is evident and highly commendable.
- Once again, we reiterate that the hostel featured in the viral video is not and has never been allocated to students in the current academic session. Any contrary claim is misleading and intended to tarnish the image of the institution.
We therefore urge the public to disregard the misinformation and refrain from further dissemination of the falsehood. The Management remains transparent and welcomes constructive engagement from all stakeholders toward the progress of the College.
